Bamboo Wood Flooring

The majority of today's Bamboo flooring products originate in China and other portions of Asia. The Bamboo is split and flattened, before being laminated together under high pressure. Known for its resistance to moisture, Bamboo flooring has made a considerable presence in the North American marketplace and gaining considerable presence around the world. Two major colours are natural and carbonized with the latter being softer in the way they achieve the colour through pressure steaming.

Bamboo wood flooring has also gained popularity with the green building council and others. Typically each plant or tree can reach maturity in five to six years whereas other more common hardwoods used for flooring can take upwards of fifty years and more.

Bamboos are a group of woody perennial evergreen plants forming by far the largest members of the grass family. Bamboo's long life makes it a Chinese symbol of longevity, while in India it is a symbol of friendship.

Bamboo forms a very hard wood which is stronger and more stable than most woods, with a tensile strength to rival steel. When seasoned it remains light and exceptionally tough. This makes it useful for many things furniture and flooring. Flooring made of Bamboo pieces steamed, flattened, glued together, finished, and cut is becoming more and more popular through out the world as people are looking for more exotic materials.

Bamboo Horizontal Carbonized Lacquered 15 x 96mm

Bamboo flooring which has been cut horizontally to provide a knotty appearance and has been carbonised for a darker colour. Each plank is tongue and grooved for easy fitting.

Bamboo Horizontal Natural Lacquered 15 x 96mm

Bamboo flooring with a natural colour which has been cut horizontally for a knotty, rustic appearance. Tongue and grooved on all four edges for easy installation.

Bamboo Vertical Carbonized Lacquered 15 x 96mm

The wood has been cut vertically for a clearer appearance and carbonised for a darker finish. Each board is tongue and grooved.

Bamboo Vertical Natural Lacquered 15 x 96mm

A natural colour flooring, finished with an extra tough varnish. Vertically cut for a clean, clear appearance. Tongue and grooved on all four edges.

123mm Brushed and Oiled Black bamboo Flooring

This 123mm solid bamboo flooring is oiled a true black unlike other black oiled floors, using a five stage oiling process. It is wire brushed to bring out the true texture and the grain of this beautiful flooring. It is very hard wearing and durable.
