Due to its sophisticated design and superior engineering, VUFOLD is fully reversible* meaning YOU decide whether left or right opening best suits your needs. No other "off the shelf" system currently on the market affords this complete freedom of choice. All you need to ensure is that you choose which direction you want the doors to open before assembling and installing the frame and then follow the assembly instructions for either left or right opening - it really is that easy. (* = the vufold doors must always open outwards).

The Vufold door now comes prefinished with sikkens hard wax oil wood protector so there is no finishing required once on site.

On 1st April 2002, new legislation came into effect, dictating that all replacement windows and door sinstalled in commercial buildings and private residences have to meet the energy saving requirements of the Building Regulations (Part L).

This move was part of a package of measures introduced to improve energy efficiency.
By incorporating low E glass into the double glazed units, which delivers optimum thermal performance, VUFOLD achievs full Part L compliance and thereby helps to reduce heating bills. The U value of these doors is 1.9.

VUFOLD also meets the criteria laid down in order to satisfy BS6375-1:2004, a universally recognised standard, denoting the performance of windows and doors in terms of weathertightness.

To achieve the prestigious standard, the units were exposed to air permeability, water tightness tests, leak tests and wind resistance and test pressure to almost hurricane levels.

These vufold doors have been finished with a Sikkens Industrial Cetol Lacquer. They are firstly coated with an end grain sealer and a joint sealer, it is all then finished with 1 base coat and 2 top coats to create the perfect finish durable for both external and internal elements.
