      <title>Bona D500 Adhesive</title>
      <description>Bona D500 Adhesive

D500 is a one-component primer for the preparation of substrates prior to the use of parquet adhesives, in particular dispersion adhesives. Solvent free and vapour permeable, it is suitable for both absorbent and non-absorbent substrates (with the exception of magnesium industrial floors). It may also be used for chipboard, panels and similar substrates.

Information

Less absorption of adhesive into substrate which extends workability
Improves quality of subfloor by sealing dust
Vapour permeable
Application: Dilute D500 1:1 with clean water and mix well. Apply evenly using brush or roller. Avoid puddles of product. Under normal conditions the adhesive may be applied the next day. Adverse site conditions may affect drying time.
Drying time: 24 hours depending on the absorbency of the substrate and the room temperature.
Coverage: 75g/M squared-concentrated
                     150g/M squared-diluted

Key points

The use of primers can not make a poor substrate good, it can make a good substrate better
Where very moisture sensitive substrates, such as anhydrite screeds, chipboard etc present or highly absorbent timber is used, a minimum drying time of 24 hours should be allowed

      <title>Bona R770 Wood Floor Adhesive</title>
      <description>Bona R770 Wood Floor Adhesive

Bona R770 is a two-component polyurethane adhesive which follows DIN 281. It does not contain water or organic solvents and hardens by chemical reaction without shrinking. R770 is especially suitable for timbers extremely sensitive to swelling and for low or non-absorbent substrates, but may also be used for the full area bonding of laminated floor coverings. It has a good open time and an excellent adhesion to almost all substrates and timber materials.

Information

Especially suitable for moisture sensitive timber types
Excellent adhesion to most substrates
Long open time (45 minutes)
Can be used for the full area bonding of laminated floor coverings
Suitable for underfloor heating
Application: The hardner should be added to the resin and mixed thoroughly, with a mixing blade on a drill, until a uniform colour is produced. When mixed the pot life is 45 mins so the laying of the timber should be well planned. The adhesive should be applied by notched trowel and a rib structure produced. The parkett should then be laid and firmly pressed down during the 45 minutes open time.
Drying time: Under normal conditions the floor may be sanded and sealed 24 hours after installation
Coverage: Depends upon type of flooring. Refer to the instructions from the parkett manufacturer, but as a guide:

850g/M squared-Mosaic parkett and similar 1 layered prefinished parkett
1000g/M squared-10mm solid parkett, 2/3 layered prefinished, woodblock (up to 40mm thick, 22mm strip)
1250g/M squared-Endgrain timbers, very wide/long boards

Key points

Component B (hardener) is harmful. Do not inhale fumes, wear gloves etc
Claening agents: acetone/ethanol. Once hardened it can only be removed mechanically (sanding).
Can be used directly onto Bona R410 D.P.M

      <title>Bona Kemi H790 Wood Flooring Adhesive</title>
<description>Bona Kemi H790 Wood Flooring Adhesive

H790 is a two-component dispersion parquet adhesive which conforms to DIN 281. Immediately after mixing component A (Dispersion) and component B (Powder) a chemical reaction starts. This chemically binds more that 50% of the total water content within the product in approximately four hours. The ratio of free water in the adhesive is less than 11%. It is especially suitable for timbers sensitive to swelling and for low absorbent substrates.

Information

No solvents therefore no health andamp; safety implications
Very low water content (11%)
Minimal swelling of the timber
High level of adhesion soon after application
Application: The two components must be thoroughly mixed using a drill fitted with a mixing blade. Mix until a uniform colour is achieved. Application should be made using a notched trowel of an appropriate size. Application should be made to an area no larger than that which can be laid within 10 minutes. The flooring should be laid onth eadhesive and pressed gently into the surface.
Coverage: Depends upon size and type of flooring. It is important that correct rates are used to avoid problems associated with poor adhesion. See below:

850g/M squared-Mosaic parkett (not prefinished)
1000g/M squared-10mm solid parkett,22mm strip flooring, 2 layer prefinished parkett
1250g/M squared-End grain blocks/fingers, 3 layer prefinished parkett, very long/wide boards.
Drying times (once mixed):

Pot life=45 minutes
Open time once spread = 10 minutes
After 24 hours the floor may be sanded and sealed

Key points

H790 is not suitable for bitumen backed blocks, finger mosaic etc.
Drying time/cure time may be affected by adverse site conditions such as low temperature and high humidity
It is recommended that the substrate be primed using Bona D500
H790 conforms to DIN 821
Suitable for use with under floor heating
