      <title>Bona Prime Classic</title>
      <description>WHERE TO USE IT?

Reduces coloration of the timber in Mega specifications

APPLICATION

Apply using the Bona roller or other suitable applicator

COVERAGE

8 –10M squared / Litre (100 – 120 g/M squared)

KEY POINTS

One application only – replaces one application of lacquer.
Only sand with Bona Scrad system.
NOT to be used as a final finish.

      <title>Bona Carls 90 Flooring Oil</title>
      <description>Bona Carl 90 Flooring Oil

The Carl’s Oil range of flooring oils are based on natural Pine oil, containing just 10% solvent. The number in the name refers to the solids content of the product. The inspiration behind this range of oils is that there are three steps towards an attractive and long lasting oiled wood floor.
For use in areas under 70Msquared.
Information

Achieves the unique appearance of an oiled floor in one day
Apply using a Bona Oil Applicator
Correct basic treatment where the pores of the wood are thoroughly saturated
Correct and regular periodic maintenance
Correct and regular cleaning
Carl’s 90 and 45 provide a matt, natural appearance while enhancing the natural variation within the timber. Carl’s Hardwax Oil gives a shinier surface with wax protection. As Carl’s Oils can have varying effects, depending on the timber species, we would recommend that samples are prepared prior to treating a floor.Carl’s 90 is a hardening oil containing less that 10% solvents, intended for the surface treatment of untreated wood floors exposed to normal or heavy wear. Due to its quick drying, the floor may be completed within one working day. As subsequent coats must be applied before the previous has dried we recommend Carl’s 90 for areas up to 70m squared.

Enhances natural beauty of the timber
Dry solids 90%
Easy to apply
Dries quickly
Ready in day
Practically no bleed back
Excellent coverage rate
Suitable for areas up to 70m squared
Waiting times between coats: 20 minutesCoverage: Approximately 10-12m squared per litre depending upon timber species
Note: Carl’s 90 must be applied using a solvent-resistant rubber applicator
Apply the oil evenly and thinly. Start at the furthest end of the room and work towards the door. Allow the oil to oak in for about 20 minutes. Do not allow the oil to dry. Repeat the treatment until the surface is saturated i.e. until the wood will not absord any further oil. The number of treatments required will depend upon the type of wood but 2 - 3 treatments are normally enough. However, no more than approximately 0.1 litre of oil per M squared should be applied. 20 Minutes after the final application, the surplus oil should be buffed in alternate directions using a buffing machine (150rpm) and a Bona Oil pad.
Immediately after buffing, any remaining surplus should be removed with a cotton oil cloth placed under the machine. Edges and corners should be dried by hand using a cotton cloth. The floor should be allowed time to dry. Best results are achieved if the floor is allowed to dry over night but it may be buffed after just 6 hours if necessary. During this time, foot traffic should be avoided. Buff the floor with a buffing machine (300rpm if possible) and a red pad. Then buff the floor with a dry cotton oil cloth under the pad. If the floor looks patchy, add a small amount fo oil to the cloth, place under the machine and buff the floor. One hour later, buff again. Continue this process to increase the sheen of the surface. To give the oil time to cure, the floor should be allowed to dry for 24 hours without any foot traffic.
 Key points

The bona oil applicator must be used for applying the oil
An oil pad and oil cloth is essential for effective treatment of a floor
A floor buffing machine (preferably two speeds) is required for the oil treatment
Refer to Carl's Oil sitework Info for detsils as to the full oil treatment and maintenance information
Used cloths and rags should be placed in water or a closed container because of the risk of spontaneous combustion
Waiting time between applications is approximately 20 minutes

      <title>Bona Carls 45 Flooring Oil</title>
      <description>Bona Carl's 45 Flooring Oil

The Carl’s Oil range of flooring oils are based on natural Pine oil, the number in the name refers to the solids content of the product. The inspiration behind this range of oils is that there are three steps towards an attractive and long lasting oiled wood floor.

As Carl’s Oils can have varying effects, depending on the timber species, we would recommend that samples are prepared prior to treating a floor.Carl’s 90 is a hardening oil containing less that 55% solvents, intended for the surface treatment of untreated wood floors exposed to normal or heavy wear. Due to its longer open time (compared to Carl's 90) larger areas can be treated. With incresed solvent the oil dried slowly allowing for more time to apply the oil

Dry solids 45%
Easy to apply
For treatment of large areas
Minimised bleed back
Waiting times between coats: 30 - 45 minutesCoverage: Approximately 4-8m squared per litre depending upon timber species
Best applied using a floor mop but a brush or roller can also be used. Apply the oil generously to the floor to give an even, 'wet' surface. After 20 minutes, spread the surplus oil to very absorbent areas. It may be necessary to add more to get an even finish. Wait for around 30 - 45 minutes. Do not let the oil dry. Repeat until the surface will not absorb any further oil. This will depend upon the type of wood but 2 - 3 treatments are normally enough. However no more than 0.25 litres per M squared should be applied. Around 30 - 45 minutes after the final application, the surplus oil should be buffed in alternate directions using a buffing machine (150rpm) and a Bona Oil pad. Immediately after buffing, any surplus oil should be removed with a rubber scraper and/or cotton cloth. Edges and corners should be dried by hand using a cotton cloth.
Let the oil dry for 12 - 18 hours. During this time, foot traffic should be avoided. Buff the flooring using a buffing machine (300rpm if possible) and a red pad. Buff the floor with a dry cotton cloth under the pad. If the floor looks patchy, add a small amount of oil to the cloth, place it under the machine and buff the floor. One hour later, buff again. This process may be repeated in order to achieve a slightly incresed surface sheen. To give the oil time to cure, the floor should be allowed to dry for 24 hours without any foot traffic.
Key Points

Apply using a floor mop, brush or roller
An oil pad and oil cloth is essential for effective treatment of a floor
A floor buffing machine (preferably 2 speeds) is requiredfor the oil treatment
Refer to Carl's Oil sitework info for details as to the full oil treatment and maintenance information
Used cloths and rags should be placed in water or a closed container because of the risk of spontaneous combustion
Waiting time between applications is 30-45 minutes
Coverage: Approximately 4-8M squared per litre, depending on the type of wood (This is total coverage not per coat

      <title>Bona Carls Flooring Oil 25</title>
<description>The Carl’s Oil range of flooring oils are based on natural Pine oil, the number in the name refers to the solids content of the product. The inspiration behind this range of oils is that there are three steps towards an attractive and long lasting oiled wood floor.
A maintenance oil for use with a floor treated with Carl's oils or other oil systems.
N.B. not suitable for wax-oil systems

Correct basic treatment where the pores of the wood are thoroughly saturated
Correct and regular periodic maintenance
Correct and regular cleaning
Application: apply using a floor mop, brush or roller.

Carl’s 25 is designed for regular maintenance fo wooden floors treated with Carl's 90 and Carl's 45. By treating the floor with Carl's 25, it will retain its original natural look and become more wear resistant.

For periodic maintenance
Dry solids 25%
Easy to apply and quick drying

Waiting times between coats: 30 - 45 minutes

Coverage: Approximately 20-100m squared per litre depending upon species and absorbency of wood and application method

The best way to apply Carl's 25 is with a floor mop however a brush or roller can also be used. As a guide, the surface should be maintained 2 - 3 times per year in public areas with heave wear and 1 - 2 times per year in areas with medium to low wear. In homes, maintenance every third year is normally sufficient.

The floor should be thoroughly cleaned using Carl's Cleaner following the removal of lose dirt and grit. Carl's 25 should be applied to the floor and left for approximately 30 minutes. The surface should then be buffed with a Bona Oil Pad attached to the base of a buffing machinem until an even level of saturation is reached. Apply additional oil if necessary. Surplus oil should be removed by placing an oil cloth under the buffer pad.Any splashes or runs should be removed immediately with a cloth. Allow the floor to dry for 4 - 12 hours then buff with a red pad. If swirl marks appear, or a shiner surface is desired, place an oil cloth under the pad and buff again. Carl's Cleaner should be used for periodic maintenance in the home and for regular cleaning of all oiled wood floors.
Key Points

The floor must be clean prior to treatment
An oil pad and oil cloth are required for effective treatment
A floor buffing machine(preferably 2 speeds) is required for the oil treatment
As a guide, for heavy wear a surface should be treated about 2-3 times a year, For medium to low wear, 1-2 times a year.
Refer to the Carl's oil sitework info for greater detail on maintenance
