Quarter sawn oak is different to normal oak due to the way it has been milled and cut off the log. The log is first quartered, then the planks are alternately slabbed off the log exposed faces of the quarters. This makes the exposed faces more nearly parallel to the medullary rays which are therefore more pronounced. This floor has then been finished with UV lacquer giving it a durable, hard wearing and long lasting finish. The boards are 19mm x 150mm with various lengths.
